The
programme consists of two introductory days followed by ongoing
support to enable individuals to qualify as competent assessors
for NVQs
Who should
attend?
This award is designed for the specialist assessor who assesses
in a variety of settings and who is often responsible for making
the final, or summative, assessment decision. The vocational
assessor will have a vocational qualification, or experience, in
the occupational area he/she is assessing in and makes assessment
decisions from a variety of sources of evidence.
The skills
assessor could be a skilled worker, a supervisor, a manager, a
teacher or a tutor.
Aim
To enable participants to gain the Training & Development
Assessor awards so that they may become NVQ and competence based
Assessors.
Objectives
On completion of the introductory module, participants will
be able to:-
- Identify the
purpose and nature of assessment in the workplace
- Relate
assessment procedures to the requirements of NVQs
and Training & Development standards
- Recognise the
importance to the individual and the organisation of
reviewing trainees progress
- Understand
the performance criteria to be met to achieve City &
Guilds Skills Assessor Award (728/11) or Vocational
Assessor Award (7281/12)
- Demonstrate
the skills of assessing performance
- Give feedback
on performance
- Have a clear
understanding of how to assemble a portfolio of evidence
to gain the D32 & D33 awards.
This award
stands in its own right but it also gives you the following:
- Credits to
Training & Development NVQs
- Level 3 two
units (option)
- Level 4 two
units (option)
