Monitoring & Evaluation

The course will focus on the distinction between monitoring and evaluation, the formulation of aims and objectives, the development of appropriate performance indicators and look at some quality standards.

Participants will be able to assess the effectiveness of their own monitoring systems and address how they will fit in with the evaluation process within their own organisation.

Course Aim
The course will provide a good grounding in self-evaluation by:

Providing an introduction to issues involved in monitoring and evaluation community initiatives, and especially to the ways in which self-evaluation techniques can make a positive contribution to the development and future success of projects.

Specific Object
On completion of the course the participants will be able to:

  • Understand and value the role monitoring and evaluation plays in effective project management  

  • Reassess the monitoring and evaluation system in use in their own organisation.
