Managing Effective Meetings

Introduction
"The managing committee does most of its work in meetings. If a committee is to be effective it must hold meetings that are lively, that engage all its members and that reach sound decisions.

Good meetings can be a source of inspiration and can build the sense that the organisation's getting somewhere worthwhile. They also enable every member to contribute their skills and knowledge effectively. A good meeting turns a motley group of individuals into a dynamic team which gets its work done and builds a unique spirit. It is sobering to consider how rarely people look back on a managing committee meeting and think any of these things."
