Introduction to Fundraising

General
This two day course will cover a range of fundraising options available to you, to help put a strategy together. Many people believe that producing and implementing a fundraising strategy is a part time task to be performed by a member of staff who is not busy with anything else - how wrong can we be? The sessions will involve "hands on" exercises dealing with practical issues which will significantly improve your success rate.

Aims and Objectives

To give participants a grounding in:

  • Charitable Trusts
  • European Funding
  • National Lottery Bids
  • Single Regeneration Budget

The course will cover:

  • what makes a good bid?
  • why do funders fund?
  • why funders do not fund?
  • setting the objectives for your programme
  • the essentials of a funding programme
  • identifying the appropriate funding for different needs and organisations
  • analysing replies from funders - what are they really saying?
  • how we can involve the Private Sector

Who should attend?
Anyone who is involved or wishes to be involved in fundraising whether a minor or a major funding project for an organisation will benefit from these 2 days. A packed course covering many areas are often overlooked.
