First Aid at Work Certificate

Over the four days this will give the 24 hours contact time including the 2 hour examination on theory and practical by two external qualified assessors as laid down by the Health and Safety Executive. Full attendance on courses offering statutory certificates is also a requirement of the Health & Safety Executive. Successful candidates receive a nationally recognised certificate valid for three years. Holders are then designated First Aiders at Work.

Included in the cost of this four-day course participants will each receive the current 7th edition first aid manual and an A4 laminated certificate will be issued within 7-10 days to each successful student.

This course fully meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulation Act 1981.

This course will cover:

  • Resuscitation
  • Controlling Bleeding
  • Treatment of shock
  • Recognition of illness
  • Treatment of burns and scalds
  • Treatment of injuries
  • Dressing and immobilising of injured parts
  • Communication and delegation in an emergency
  • Personal hygiene when dealing with wounds
  • Contents of first aid boxes
  • Treatment of sick and injured persons
  • Treatment of poisoning
  • Treatment of unconscious casualties
  • Simple record keeping

NB As this is a hands on course it would be advisable to wear comfortable clothing e.g. trousers. All necessary training equipment plus individual personal protection will be provided.
