Employment Law and Small Voluntary Organisations

This one day workshop will explain the basic pattern and specific rules of modern employment law as they affect voluntary bodies (including charities) which have not employed anyone until recently.

The day will include why every employee has to have a contract, what does (and doesn't) go into it, and how it can go wrong. We shall look at recruitment, interviewing, induction, oversight, disciplinary rules, how and how not to terminate employment, and how taking on an employee affects various officers of a charity. There will be workshop-style case studies and ample time for questions.
