General
There are three important aspects of managing change. First,
managers need to deal with the impact of change that is taking
place in the organisation's environment and affecting the
business. Secondly, managers need to actively initiate changes to
constantly improve the business. Thirdly, managers must cope with
the fall-out from the changes they institute. Often conflict
situations will arise; that is inevitable and can often be
resolved in a way that actually benefits all involved. When
conflict and change are well managed they are important stimuli
for learning and development.
The programme
considers a framework for initiating and managing change. It is
an important managerial tool because of its versatility, lending
itself to a range of development uses.
