Why the VSTU's approach is special

It is the VSTU's aim to meet our clients needs through the highest quality training. This award is unique for whilst complying with City & Guilds assessment criteria for Adult Teaching, the VSTU promotes the need of the Voluntary Sector and Training in the 1990's. The course is adapted to:

  • Relate course content to voluntary sector ethos.
  • Relate course content to National Training Initiatives, not just for Further Education Philosophy.
  • Relate course content to "real-world facilitation" (A model by P Clements and T Spinks), not just traditional classroom teaching.

Benefits of this award for you and your organisation:

  • Training on a budget! Find out about ways to motivate the adult learner.
  • Keep participants on the edge of their seats with 34 ways to build audience rapport and participation.
  • How to use case studies, games, discussion and other techniques to make training fun and exciting.

  • Timing - you'll understand exactly when to "speed-up" and when to "slow-down".
  • Learn to judge when and how to use pre-prepared training materials and other outside sources, without breaching copyright.
  • Find out what you should know about lighting, space, room arrangements and other "physical" factors that affect the learning experience.
  • Develop course books, handouts and materials that will continue to be used long after the training session ends.
