(research and PR)

- staffing
- management
strategies and policies

and evaluation
- finances
By the end of the
day participants will have a clear picture of these eight
elements and have started work on 5 of them.
Have you ever
wondered what a Business Plan is?
It is not as complicated as you might imagine. It is a
totally straight forward method, developed from experience in the
Private Sector, and now tailored to the needs of the not for
profit sector. It will involve a deal of careful thought and
preparation, but will ensure that the organisation knows where it
is going and how it is going to get there. The result will be
people at all levels of the organisation working in harmony -
"singing from the same song sheet". We all know of
organisations which don't plan - people pulling in different
directions, frictions, tensions, demoralised staff etc. etc.
Effective project planning can turn this around at a stroke.
The day will
answer your questions and start you on the journey of getting
thoroughly organised. You will learn what needs to go into the
plan, how it will help you keep track as an organisation and how
it could help you with your fundraising. You will learn to set
meaningful targets, what should and should not go into your
business plan and how to use the plan as a day-to-day guide.
In short, an
invaluable and enjoyable day that will enable participants to
begin a process of strategic thinking and planning presented in
an accessible and jargon-free manner.
