growth. This one-day course can be the start of that freedom and
growth. The start of making choices that support you that enhance
your confidence and self-expression.
Aims and
Objectives
This one day
workshop will consider the following:
- Assertiveness
questionnaire - Identifying your own level of
Assertiveness in order to initiate discussion in the
group
- Ideal versus
Real Assertiveness - Distinguishing between
"ideal" and "real" in order to choose
attitudes and motivations that produce happy, successful
results
- Recognising
assertive and non-assertive behaviours - a framework
which helps you compare the way you usually behave with
the style you would like to develop
- Becoming
Assertive - acquiring new assertive behaviours through
changing your attitudes, actions and reactions
- Empowering
Yourself to be Assertive - The Tools of Power, practical
ways of enhancing the development of assertiveness
- Establishing
a support network to support you in staying assertive
Who should
attend
Anyone who is feeling that life, people, events are taking
them over or who feel they have lost sight of the above and need
to be rejuvenated, then this is the course for you.
Assertive
behaviour promotes equality in relationships, enabling us to act
in our own best interests, to stand up for ourselves without
unnecessary anxiety, to express our feelings honestly and
confidently, to exercise personal rights without infringing the
rights of others.
About the
trainer
Marian Dilworth has a lot of experience in facilitating
courses of this nature, to promote well being, self-awareness and
confidence in people. Her work as a counsellor and trainer bring
her into contact with many people who are coping with self-esteem
and assertiveness issues.
