If you have to deal with other people as
part of your voluntary work, and face a number of
difficult situations from time to time, then this
workshop is meant for you.
Just think
for a moment, have you ever experienced any of the
following:
- Being
faced with unreasonable requests?
- Feeling
angry about the lack of co-operation you are
getting from another?
- Wanting
to disagree with a point of view that someone is
forcefully expressing?
- Having
to handle an irate service-user?
- Making
an important presentation to your management
committee having had very little time to prepare?
- Having
to take an unsatisfactory item back to a shop?
These are
all difficult situations we find ourselves in, situations
that if handled assertively can have a
successful outcome for you, and your organisation.
This
workshop is all about success. It is a workshop that gets
you to focus on yourself, what you can do and points the
way forward to developing your personal effectiveness at
home and work. We want it to be interactive and
participant-led, a springboard to the more assertive and
more confident you.
- Distinguishing
between assertive, aggressive and non-assertive
(passive) behaviour
- The
reasons for behaving assertively
