Malcolm Shorney has experience in teaching, education advice and administration, specialising in education management training and development.

Previously Deputy County Education Officer (Cleveland County Council), Director of Education, Middlesbrough Borough Council.

Currently: a Director of NEAB (Northern Examination and Assessment Board); a director of AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Authority) and serves on The Regional Open College Network for the North (TROCN) Council and Executive.
