Housing Advice
Cleveland Housing Advice Centre
provides advice and assistance to
the homeless and badly housed community of Cleveland.
We will advise clients on their statutory rights in such matters.
CHAC negotiates with private sector landlords to secure temporary /
permanent accommodation on behalf of the homeless.
Benefits Advice
Clients who approach Cleveland Housing Advice Centre, receive Benefit
checks as a matter of course.
CHAC maintains a fully comprehensive library of up-to-date Benefit
Legislation and rates.
Tribunals and County Court Representation
Cleveland Housing Advice Centre
provides representation to the
Social Fund, Social Security Appeals Tribunals and Medical Appeals
Tribunals etc.
We also provide representation at Housing Appeals and County Court
Evictions / Repossessions.
This service is provided by fully trained members of staff.
We are however committed to obtaining positive results without recourse
to court / tribunals if it is possible.
This service is free and available to the population of Cleveland.
We receive our referrals from Statutory Authorities, Voluntary Organisation's
and Self referrals.

door policy where initial appointments aren't necessary.
Furniture Assistance Scheme
We have a furniture scheme which supports our Advice Service. We collect
household furniture that is unwanted and in good condition. We then sell
this on to people who need low cost furniture at a nominal price. So
please do not hesitate to contact us if you need, or have any furniture
for disposal.
