How people are referred

You can be referred by your G.P., Drug & Alcohol Services, Friends, Family or by contacting us directly yourself by either telephone or by calling into The Albert Centre.

 

Location
The Albert Centre is situated at: 3 Albert Terrace which is just off Linthorpe Road, opposite the Forbes Buildings. There is full disabled access and facilities.

Opening Times
The Albert Centre Office is open 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 4.30pm on Fridays. Counselling appointments are made during office hours but are available both day-time and evenings.
There is an answer-phone if we are not available when you ring. The Albert Centre regrets that it does not have the facilities for home visits.
The Albert Centre also provides counselling from various sub-centers throughout the Teesside District, currently based at Redcar and Stockton.

 

Day-time Appointments
Monday & Wednesday - 10.00am to 12.30pm

Evening Appointments
Monday to Thursday - 7.00pm to 9.00pm


Albert Centre Services

  • Counselling
    Confidential, client centered, one to one counselling for individuals experiencing problems in relation to Alcohol and/or Drug use/misuse and/ or their carers. The agencies counsellors use methods such as motivational interviewing, which assist individuals in identifying issues relating to their current situation.
  • Information & Advice
    Harm reduction and risk reduction in relation to alcohol and drug using practices. The Albert Centre has produced various leaflets specific to areas of interest/concern, i.e. Women & Alcohol/Drugs, Substance Misuse and the body.
  • Support
    For those individuals currently facing on-going problems relating to substance misuse, whether directly or indirectly.
  • Schools Education Programme
    Basic Alcohol Awareness training for schools throughout the Teesside District.
  • Drink/Drive Rehabilitation Course
    This course is in conjunction with Hartlepool Magistrates Court and the Ministry of Transport.
  • Current Resources
    1 Service Manager, 1 Centre Organiser and 30 fully trained Volunteers.
