What Is A Word Processor?
Your word processing system (program plus computer) could be considered to be a typewriter equipped with built in scissors, paste and correction fluid. Although a word processing program functions in the same way as a highly sophisticated typewriter, there are important differences.

By The End Of This Course You Will Be Able To:
  • Start and exit Word

  • Change and zoom the view; hide and show toolbars

  • Use Undo and Redo

  • Select words, sentences and phrases; apply various fonts, font sizes and styles; align paragraphs

  • Use the menus, toolbar buttons and shortcut key combinations
  • Create new documents, type text making use of word wrap; correct mistakes using the Spelling and Grammar checker

  • Open, close, save and print documents; use Print Preview to view a document on screen as it would be printed

  • Use the Page Set-up options to set margins, paper size and orientation
The session will be largely self directed using the latest commercial training manuals, thus allowing you to work at your own pace and cover the topics important to you. You will therefore need to prioritise from this information page, prior to the training day to decide what you want to cover.
