What is a Database Programme?
There is no doubt that Microsoft Access is a large, advanced database program and most people will need some help when learning to use it. A database is simply a collection of information, or data. For example, the names and addresses of customers and suppliers, or details about the books in a library could all be called databases. A database program, such as Microsoft Access, is simply a tool for organising, storing and retrieving the information in a database. It provides a way of entering new details or changing existing details, different ways of sorting and extracting the information, and a method of printing reports about your data.

You will learn about:
  • Getting Started
    the Microsoft Access window
    using the menu system
    using the Office Assistant
  • Navigating The Database
    moving between fields/records
