Intermediate Course


This course follows on from the Microsoft PowerPoint 97 beginners course. As this is not a course for beginners, it is assumed that you have a basic working knowledge of Power Point and can perform certain elementary tasks. It is designed to guide you through the most important features of the program, using language that is easy to understand and examples that are easy to follow.

Participants will need to prioritise which of the following topics they wish to cover:

    adding the organisation chart

    creating an organisation chart as part of a presentation
  • Masters
    viewing the slide master
    adding other objects to the slide master
    adding a picture to the title master
  • Objects
    selecting/re-sizing/moving objects

  • Word Art
    inserting wordart

  • Charts
    creating a chart

What you should already know about Microsoft PowerPoint:
  • Start and exit PowerPoint; open, save and close presentations
  • Use the menus, toolbar buttons and shortcut key combinations
  • Use the AutoContent wizard
  • Change and zoom the view; use the Slide, Outline, Slide Sorter and Notes Page views; hide and show toolbars
  • Apply Designs to change the loom of your presentation
  • Use the transition and animation effects to enliven your presentation
  • Insert ClipArt; create a simple chart
  • Run a presentation
  • Print a presentation; create audience handouts
  • Use the Pack And Go Wizard to package a presentation onto diskette(s); retrieve the presentation from diskette to perform the presentation on another computer

The session will be largely self directed using the latest commercial training manuals, thus allowing you to work at your own pace and cover the topics important to you. You will therefore need to prioritise from this information page, prior to the training day to decide what you want to cover.
